A few days ago, David Allen, Asset Wrangler for SEGA, published the first post on his IGN blog in which he talks about his experience on the set of New Line Cinema's newest epic fantasy, The Golden Compass. Allen talks about being the Asset Wrangler (it means he collects information about the movie to relay to the game developers) and shows some behind-the-scenes pictures and stories about his job. It's an interesting read for anyone interested in either this movie or game development.
I am, of course, a huge fan of The Golden Compass and the trilogy it belongs to, His Dark Materials, written by British writer Philip Pullman. (That's why I ran this story) The movie's game looks interesting so far (as far as movie adaptations go), and I'm looking forward to trying out the Alethiometer mechanics in-game. (Its that truth-telling compass that main character Lyra carries around) The game releases on all current-gen platforms as well as PC and PS2 on December 4 in the US and 7 in the UK.
