Double Dose of Wiiupdateness

Sometime last week (I was away, so I'm not sure) the Wii recieved a major update, and today, Nintendo sent out yet another update for the console. Here's the rundown on the contents.

Update 1:

  • Wii Shop revamped
  • Added ugly digital clock to main menu
  • "Time played" memo is in white, not yellow
  • Address book entries may be dragged around and organized
  • Limited USB keyboard support
  • Other cool stuff we haven't found yet
Update 2:
  • Fixes errors in Internet channel
So for those of you who haven't gotten the update, get out there and download it!

Yeah, I think I got that update for my Wii too. Do you know when/if the Wii Internet will be able to play videos and/or mp3s? That's one Wii feature I'd definitely like to see above others ^^

Well, you can *kind of* play videos and mp3s using the web browser right now, but other than that, I don't think there are any plans to allow that. However, you never know what new channels Nintendo might have up their sleeves. Video/music playing/sharing is a big part of social networking, a segment of the market they've been aiming for.
